This is one of the first pieces of equipment designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It is a sliding metal bed with springs and pullies, which adds exercise intensity by adjusting the spring resistance.
The Reformer can be used to introduce you to Pilates as a beginner, or allow you to take your matwork to the next level if you have been doing Pilates already. It allows a wide range of exercises to be performed lying down, sitting, kneeling or standing , to move every major muscle and joint of the body to strengthen and sculpt.
The reformer provides a full body workout, improving core strength and body awareness while strengthening muscles - however it will help you achieve better posture and coordination than mat Pilates. Great feedback from students who have noticed a return to flexibility they had lost over the years.
